MARRUL or DRY SEASON

Dragonflies are a poignant symbol in our home town of Broome. The monsoon is an exciting yet trying time. The humidity hangs in the air like a blanket and the storm clouds hang evocatively on the bruised horizon forever and forever until finally the rains come down and saturate, the winds come and dislodge until finally the debris, shiny and clean and steaming with the smell of petrichor comes the dance of the dragonflies. Dry season is nigh. This is a collaborative piece with copper work by Mieke Collins.
